France boss Dider Deschamps thinks Paul Pogba ‘can’t be happy’ with his current situation at Man Utd.
The midfielder has had to deal with less playing time this campaign as his midfield teammates get extended roles in the team.
Bruno Fernandes has become United’s main man so far after scoring six goals and assisting five more in just 11 matches.
New signing Donny van de Beek has also made ten appearances for the Red Devils.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clearly trying to figure out which is his best midfield.
However, that’s had a negative impact on Pogba as he is no longer guaranteed to start.
His France boss has now responded to the situation at Old Trafford, saying: “I know Paul well and he knows the squad well. He finds himself in a situation with his club that he can’t be happy about, neither in terms of his playing time nor his position.
“He’s not at his best, he’s had a string of injuries and Covid-19 has also affected him adversely. He needs to rediscover his rhythm.”
Pogba has appeared in all seven of United’s Premier League matches. But not all of these were from the first whistle.
He’s also yet to register a goal or assist in the Prem.
Pundit Jamie Carragher believes the club needs to sell the Frenchman to prioritise other players.
He told Talksport: “Would I pick Pogba in the United team now? No I wouldn’t. I don’t think he’s a great player. I thought he may have the impact of Lampard at Chelsea or Gerrard at Liverpool.
“Those players drove their teams to titles and European Cups. When you are that man to take United to the next level, and that’s winning titles and European cups, that’s what we were almost told was coming when he was the world’s most expensive player.
“We were told he’d done it for Juve. It just hasn’t happened for him at United and I’d be looking to move him on now.
“He’s played enough games for United and finally Ole has said Fernandes is my player. He’s been really good since coming in January so I’d be looking to take the money on Pogba.”
