Man Utd considering another loan exit for outstanding young star

November 9, 2020

Manchester United transfer chiefs are reportedly considering sending outstanding young keeper Dean Henderson out on loan again.

The England senior squad member returned from Sheffield United over the summer after a highly successful spell.

United decided against loaning him out again, opting to keep Henderson to mount a serious challenge to David De Gea instead.

However, he’s only made three appearances so far, including two in the Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils have conceded 14 goals in their first seven league matches, but De Gea has not really been an issue for a struggling United back line.

That leaves Henderson available for a move and according to ESPN, United will let the 23-year-old join another club in search of regular first-team football.

There are likely to be a number of interested clubs too, with Henderson showing his tremendous potential while at Bramall Lane.

Last season he kept 13 clean sheets in 36 Premier League outings, helping Chris Wilder’s men to a ninth-placed finish.

A lower level top flight side is his most likely destination. That would mean regular game time and boost his England hopes

Henderson is currently preparing for the friendly against the Republic of Ireland, while England will also face Belgium and Iceland in the Nations League.

Solskjaer not right for Man Utd

Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer insists that Manchester United should never have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.

The under-pressure Norwegian brought himself some breathing space with a 3-1 win at Everton on Saturday. Prior to that victory there has been strong speculation that Mauricio Pochettino could snatch the Old Trafford hotseat.

And McAteer has revealed that he has never been that impressed with Solskjaer and that the job is too big for him.

The former Republic of Ireland star: “I’ve never been a fan of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United. I’ve always thought I was a wrong appointment.

“I get why it happened with him being an ex-player of the club and of the Sir Alex Ferguson era. But I just don’t think he’s got the temperament for the Manchester United dressing room. It’s too big a job with a lot of egos in there.

“The job itself is a tough act for him. I do feel he’s been let down massively by his senior players. I understand what he’s trying to do there but it’s just not working at the moment.” Read more…
